Reminders that warn you in time

Most of the things that go wrong with contracts and subscriptions don't go wrong because of bad decisions. They go wrong because nobody was warned in time. An insurance policy that silently renews, a certificate that expires, a licence cancelled just a little too late.

A date is not a reminder

In a spreadsheet you neatly put an expiry date in a column. Handy to look up, but the file never sends you a message. The date just sits there, and it's up to you to remember to check. That works as long as you dive into the file every week, and stops working after that.

Attach an alert to a date

In OwndUp you attach a reminder to a date column. You decide how many days in advance you want a heads-up, for example 30 days before a contract expires. All open notifications come together on one page, so you can see at a glance what's coming up.

A few examples of what people watch this way:

  • Contracts that would otherwise renew silently.
  • SSL certificates and domain names with a hard expiry date.
  • Inspections and maintenance that need to happen on time.
  • Trial periods you want to cancel before they roll over.

From reactive to calm

The difference is small but noticeable. Instead of firefighting after the fact, you get a notification well in time and decide at your own pace: renew, cancel or adjust. No more surprises, and no more costly mistakes because something slipped through the cracks.

Set the reminder up right once, and from then on the list thinks along with you.
