Why we make OwndUp

It started with a familiar feeling. Important things — contracts, subscriptions, certificates, licences — live in files that nobody really keeps up. They're scattered across spreadsheets, mailboxes and folders. Until something expires and you're too late.

A spreadsheet is fantastic to start with. Flexible, fast, everyone knows it. But at some point you outgrow it. You want to work shared without ten versions floating around, you want a heads-up before something expires, and you want to know the overview holds up when a colleague leaves.

The next step often feels too big. Full-blown systems are expensive, complicated and ask for an implementation project for something that should really just be a smart list. That's the gap we want to fill.
