OwndUp has always watched the dates that expire: contracts, certificates, domains, licences. But a lot of what slips through the cracks isn't a thing that expires. It's a thing that has to happen, again and again: the fire drill, the inspection, the supplier review, the VAT prep. From today, OwndUp watches that too.
A task is a date with a duty
A calendar item reminds you and then forgets about you. It gives no weekly overview, belongs to no one in particular, and never notices when you dismiss it. A recurring obligation deserves better than that.
In OwndUp a task is a row on a task list: a title, a date, and two things a calendar can't give you.
- A repeat. Set it to monthly, quarterly or yearly. Handle the task and the next date is set for you, automatically.
- An assignee. Assign a task to a colleague and only that person gets the nudge, even without access to the whole list. You see in your weekly overview whether it's done.
Check it off from the email
When the reminder lands, there's a "Done" button right in the email. One tap, no login. For a recurring task, you immediately see when the next round is due. It's meant to be faster than a calendar item, because the whole point is that it shouldn't feel like a chore.
And a safety net underneath
Left too long, a task escalates to the backup, just like any other date. And when someone leaves the organisation, their tasks hand over to a successor or fall back to the list, so nothing quietly disappears with them. That's the same continuity promise OwndUp has always made for lists, now for the work around them too.
Everything in one overview
Tasks and expiry dates live side by side: on the dashboard, in the Monday email, in the month calendar, and on a dedicated Tasks page that gathers everything due across all your lists, ordered by time. Recurring tasks are in every plan, including Lite for yourself.
Nothing expires. Nothing slips.
